Ivy Rose is an underground comic artist who creates zines and is currently based out of Albuquerque. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Ivy has always taken inspiration from both urban and natural settings. Ivy graduated with a BASW in Social work from San Francisco State University in 2019.
In San Francisco Ivy Rose apprenticed under Mission Mini Comix, an underground comic collective that has been featured in SF Weekly for their educational comics informing the world more accurately about Harm Reduction and advocating for safer drug use policy. Since 2017, Ivy has been self publishing their own stories, screenprinting T-shirts, and developing prints of their strictly hand drawn artwork. They have made countless zines bringing humor and fantasy to the most mundane aspects of daily life. The stories they write fall under the genre of magical surrealism pulp fiction personal vignettes. Meticulously hand drawn and detailed comics is at the heart of Ivy's multifaceted art practice. She is a designer, artist, and story teller with an unmistakably unique perspective on the sensitivity of the human condition.
